1. The First Academy (25-6)

Buzz: Royals, with ACC signees Chaundee Brown and Malik William, get rave reviews.

2. Windermere Prep (27-5)

Buzz: Do-it-all Memphis signee David Nickelberry leads Lakers’ pursuit of second straight state title

3. Orlando Christian Prep (19-12)

Buzz: Young talent could surpass the 30-1 cast of 2013-14 that included five D-I signees.

4. Oak Ridge (20-7)

Buzz: High-major juniors Antwann Jones and Michael Devoe lead another potent Pioneers squad.

5. Kissimmee Osceola (21-8)

Buzz: Tevin Florent, a 6-6 senior, can show Kowboys’ elite sophomores the way to Lakeland.

6. Edgewater (13-13)

Buzz: Louisville commit Anfernee Simons is back. Eagles back in the running for state tourney.

7. Master’s Academy (22-4)

Buzz: Balanced ballclub led by 6-7 Sr. Brooks Cluxton and Lake Highland transfer Jose Placer.

8. Winter Park (21-10)

Buzz: Wildcats have three state titles and seven final four appearances in past 11 seasons.

9. Central Florida Christian Academy (17-12)

Buzz: 2A Eagles have surrounded slick junior point guard Dante Treacy with fresh talent.

10. Evans (16-10)

Buzz: Senior stalwarts Ickson Masson and Kimani Binder are back from district title team.

11. Oviedo (18-12)

Buzz: Area passing leader Morgan Mitchell (6-foot-5, Soph.) transitions from QB to hardcourt.

12. Boone (15-11)

Buzz: Third-year varsity veterans Justin Butler and Jordan Morales are among seven seniors.

13. Dr. Phillips (19-9)

Buzz: Daniel Love, who scored 30 and 36 in preseason wins, leads another quick DP club.

14. Port Orange Atlantic (26-3)

Buzz: Sharks returned four starters, including multidimensional 6-5 senior Stacy Beckton.

15. Wekiva (14-12)

Buzz: Power forward Paul Reed (6-8, Sr.) is a handful, and his support cast is also experienced.

16. Poinciana (27-5)

Buzz: Reigning state champ program looks for an encore with new batch of players.
