This summer, 7-foot center Victor Uyaelunmo found a new home for his senior year of high school, transferring to Calvary Christian from Miami Gulliver Prep.

After moving one county to the north, he has now decided to spend his college basketball career out west.

Uyaelunmo, a four-star prospect who until recently was ranked No. 84 in the country by ESPN among Class of 2017 prospects, committed to Southern California on Friday morning at an event at his school with family, coaches and teammates surrounding him.

Uyaelunmo chose the Trojans over Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

“It was the best fit for me academically and athletically,” Uyaelunmo said. “The basketball coaches really wanted me to come, and I thought it was the best place for me.

“They told me how they were going to use me, and they have a couple of guys leaving this year, so I just fit in right.”
