Larry Brown named FABC Executive Director

 

Larry Brown  brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to the FABC as he becomes the newly appointed executive director of the 2 year old organization He has been successful on all levels of hoops which includes high school, junior college, Division 1 college, and professionally in the international scene.


He comes to the Sunshine State with an overall 68% winning percentage as a head coach compiling a 686-344 record. He won back to back 5A state titles at Bryan High School in 1983 and 1984. Currently retired, he is serving as a Technical Director for the Bahamas National team. He has also coached at Fort Pierce Westwood and Kissimmee Osceola in Florida.


He has been past President of the Texas Association of Basketball Coach (TABC) serving 2 terms from 1979 – 1981.  He was the original President of the FABC in 2008-09 when he and Oviedo coach Ed Kershner had a “dream” to start a basketball coaches group in the Sunshine State. His basketball background in running camps, shootout, and coaching clinics will be a big asset to the future of the FABC.
