Florida Association of Basketball Coaches

Welcome to the Official website of the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches. The Florida Association of Basketball Coaches was born four years ago. Membership includes both Men & Women coaches on the high school, junior college, and four year college levels. The group was formed to promote basketball on all levels in Florida, to help serve coaches, and to honor successes of players, coaches and teams of the past, present, and future.


FABC FALL BASKETBALL COACHES CLINIC

SATURDAY – SEPTEMBER 6TH
LOCATION: LAKE HIGHLAND PREP / ORLANDO
TIME: 9:30am til 3:00pm Registration begins @ 8:45am.

Clinic Fee: $20.00
Fee includes a 2014-15 membership into the FABC. Lunch/Drinks will be provided complimentary
On-site vendors / Player demonstrations
All asst. coaches can attend for $5 each & receive a membership as long as the Head coach is a 2014-15 member or at the clinic.

Brendan Suhr – UCF / Director of Program Development

  • 25 years as a coach in the NBA
  • 2 NBA championship titles (1989 & 1990) as an asst. coach to Hall of Fame Coach Chuck Daly with the Detroit Pistons
  • Head scout for the USA “Dream Team” in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics

Steve Ridder – Embry Riddle University

  • Overall 24 year coaching record of 604-231
  • 19 of 24 seasons were 20+ win seasons at the helm
  • 1999-2000 NAIA National Champions with a 32-4 record and #1 National ranking
  • Conducted camps in Belgium, Switzerland, and Ireland along with his ultra-successful ERAU Individual & Team camps that draws over 800 campers

Glen Wilkes Jr. – Rollins College Womens

  • 28 years as head coach of the Tars compiling an impressive 628-205 record
  • Winningest womens hoop coach in Sunshine state Conference history
  • Ranked 9th overall in most victories in NCAA Division II history
  • 9 time SSC Coach of the Year and was named WBCA National Coach of the Year in 2007

Jim Martin – Providence High School

  • 16 year overall record of 381-75
  • Won 2 FHSAA 3A State Titles in 2010 and 2013
  • 4 FHSAA final 4’s – Won Kingdom of the Sun tourney title in 2010

Yolett McPhee – McCuin / Jacksonville University Women

  • Entering her 2nd year in rebuilding the Dolphins program
  • Nominated for WBCA Rookie Coach of the Year
  • Named to the New England Basketball Hall of fame
  • Named one of the top assistant coaches in the nation by the National Womens Basketball insider
  • Head Coach of the Bahamian Women’s National Basketball team since 2012
